Tutorial & Career Exploration
The Learning and Assessment Center offers a wide variety of educational resources and computerized tutorials. Computerized tutorials provide students with an opportunity to practice their skills at their own pace. Tutorials are offered at any time that The Learning and Assessment Center is open. Tutorials include: The Focus II Career Exploration program is available for students, free of charge. This interactive program assesses career interests and skills, and provides valuable resources designed to assist students with the career development process. Placement Testing All incoming students should schedule an appointment to take Ohio University Southern placement tests. Placement tests are computerized and focus on math, writing, and reading. These tests are designed to assist students and their advisors with course selection. Placements tests are not timed. Typically, the tests take about three hours to complete. Immediately upon completion of tests, individual results are explained to each student, who may then set up an appointment with an academic advisor for course scheduling. Placement tests are offered on Wednesdays at noon, 3pm, and 6pm. Students wishing to take placement tests must stop by or call The Learning and Assessment Center, (740) 533-4596, to schedule an appointment. Additional test times are offered prior to the start of each quarter. Individual test times may also be arranged for students who are unable to attend the scheduled test times.
