New freshmen are automatically considered for scholarships with their admission application, although certain Freshman scholarships require a supplemental application. Current students should apply before the March 22 deadline. Students may also apply for other financial aid opportunities by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov after January 1st.

For first consideration of federal campus based aid, students should file the FAFSA before February 15th in order to meet the first priority deadline of March 15.

Freshmen Scholarship deadline is March 1, 2008.
Upperclassmen Scholarship deadline is March 22, 2008.

Appalachian Scholarship

Qualifications: Student must graduate from a high school located in one of the Appalachian Ohio counties. Student may attend a regional campus for two years but will be expected to relocate to Athens for the final two years. ACT Composite of 17 or greater. GPA 2.5 or greater OR top 40% of graduating class. College Prep/Tech Prep Curriculum. Must demonstrate financial need.

Freshman Excellence Scholarship
Required Enrollment: Full Time -  16 hours per quarter.
Qualifications: Competitively awarded. Additional application required.
Waives full tuition for the first year, may be renewable for three additional years. 25 ACT and top 20% of graduating class. 

Freshman Academic Merit Scholarship

Freshman Leadership Grant

The Glenwood High Scholarship Endowment
Required Enrollment: Full Time
Qualifications: Recipients must be attending the Ohio University Athens or Southern Campus. Students beginning their education at the Southern Campus will be encouraged to continue their academic career at the Athens Campus. This scholarship is intended to support graduates of Glenwood High School, New Boston, Ohio demonstrating financial need.
For incoming freshman, this scholarship can be renewable to a maximum of four years providing student continues to demonstrate financial need and remains in good standing. Renewable award amounts may vary from year-to-year. If there are no Glenwood High applicants, second preference is given to award graduates of Portsmouth High School, Portsmouth, Ohioand third preference is to award graduates from other schools in Scioto County using the same criteria.

Ironton Child Welfare Club Scholarship
