The AAB in Accounting Technology degree is structured to provide students the accounting skills needed to perform such duties as payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, bookkeeping, auditing, and tax return preparation.
Core Accounting Technology courses include: financial procedures, tax and governmental reporting, electronic data processing, manufacturing, business statistics, federal income tax, auditing procedures, and computer applications.
The Accounting Technology program at Ohio University Southern provides successful students with the necessary knowledge and skills to seek employment in CPA firms, hospitals, school systems, retail, service, manufacturing, and commercial industries as well as other accounting-related areas.
The Associate in Applied Business Degree in Accounting Technology will prepare students to seek employment with business enterprises such as hospitals, school boards, CPA firms, retail and drug stores with duties including payroll, accounts receivable, general ledger bookkeeping, auditing, and tax return preparation. Both manual and computerized accounting systems will be covered.
