The Center for Nursing Education provides information of the process of being accepted into the nursing program.

Our faculty teaches accepted students in the nursing program entry level nursing care.

Graduates are then eligible to obtain licensure and practice as registered nurses.

New School of Nursing School Nurse License Information
The Ohio Department of Education issues a license for school nurses. School districts are expected to hire RNs with the School Nurse License to function as school nurses within the district. Ohio University can be of assistance in any one of these requirements.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program
The four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) provides the classroom and clinical education to prepare graduates for the challenges of complex and changing health-care systems. Classes are held at Ohio University Southern, with clinical training taking place at hospitals and clinics in the WV, OH, and KY Tri-State area. Candidates accepted to the program, both freshmen and transfers enter as pre-BSN majors. During the summer between the first and second years, successful pre-majors are selected to advance to the BSN major. Selection is competitive. After completing the final three years of the program, student nurses graduate and take a licensing exam. Learn more...

Bachelor of Science in Nursing RN to BSN
The School of Nursing offers a RN-to B.S.N. program designed for licensed RNs who are graduates of state-approved associate's degree or diploma schools of nursing. The purpose is to prepare generalists for the professional practice of nursing and to provide a foundation for graduate study.
