The NEARS Scholarship provides tuition funding and additional support to help students pursue education that will advance their nursing career. NEARS is for Appalachian residents who have some post-secondary education that helps them to enter a defined nursing career pathway through one of the eligible programs. NEARS was created for those who are pursuing a nursing career or upgrading credentials in the career pathway, by helping those who have been unemployed, underemployed or unable to find employment as an LPN or RN advance their education. Veterans and their eligible spouses will be given full consideration. For more information, visit the NEARS site: is http://www.ohio.edu/nears
