The Folknography team arrives in Padua, West Virginia, unload the vans, set up the writing lab, and prepare for the upcoming project.

We have a large group of field workers this trip so we have two tables of writers.  This is the "auxiliary table" with these four folknographers hard at work!

Here, the research team churns our "thick description" in the Folknography writing lab.

Here in Padua, WV, the field research team writes furiously about their initial reactions to the Padua area and their feelings about the beginning of the research project.

Each team has a map and a region to survey.  Teams will divide up and conquer the community
