Races

A day at the races is a big deal in England…especially if it is the York Races. The York Racetrack is a class "A" track. This means that there is a whole lot more money involved in this level of the industry. As you can see in the top two pictures the entire stands was full of people and they were all turned out in their best outfits. The ladies in the pictures would be considered "posh." They were affiliated with an owner or trainer of a horse participating in the races. There were six races that day and we got to watch all of them. The only real difference that we saw, besides the amount of money involved, was the York racetrack was a left-handed track. The horses ran counter clockwise. They still ran on grass and the track was very open. Needless to say we had a lovely day at the races.
