The National Stud is the headquarters of the Thoroughbred breeding industry. This is where all of the really well known racing stallions are kept. The fee for an outside person to keep his horse at the farm for one day was 30£. That is a lot of money when you add it all up into one breeding season. We were able to see the stallion unit, breeding unit, foaling unit and quarantine unit. It was interesting to see however we believe that Lexington Kentucky has a lot more money wrapped up in the industry. It was nice to compare the two. The above pictures are of the stallion unit, a turn out for new foals and a monument for a racing stallion.
